Redbay Boats

Training Academy

At Redbay Boats, we have always built boats with a singular philosophy in mind: “When you must go to sea.” That belief is not a slogan — it is a standard. It reflects the reality that serious offshore craft are not designed for fair-weather leisure alone, but for commitment, capability, and confidence when conditions are challenging and the decision to launch carries responsibility. To go to sea when it matters requires more than a well-built boat. It demands judgment. It demands seamanship. It demands skill developed not only in calm conditions, but across the full spectrum of sea states and weather.

WHY WE CREATED REDBAY TRAINING ACADEMY.

In PARTNERSHIP WITH DANNY GALLAGHER

WHY WE CREATED REDBAY TRAINING ACADEMY.

Our customers operate in demanding environments — offshore passages, exposed coastlines, commercial duties, adventure cruising, and serious recreational boating. These are situations where competence is not optional.

We believe that:
• Confidence comes from structured training.
• Safety comes from preparation and repetition.
• Seamanship is built progressively, in real conditions.
• True capability means understanding your vessel at displacement speed, at planing speed, in heavy weather, at night, and in confined waters.

This is not simply about gaining a certificate.
It is about building decision-making, awareness, and calm authority at sea.

WHY DANNY?

WHY DANNY?

To lead this initiative, we have partnered with Danny Gallagher, an experienced RYA instructor and professional skipper with decades of offshore and instructional experience.

Danny brings:
• Extensive real-world sea time in varied and demanding conditions
• RYA instructional expertise across power and sail
• A calm, structured teaching approach
• Deep understanding of coastal and offshore navigation
• Experience developing competent, self-reliant skippers

Most importantly, Danny shares Redbay’s belief that competence is forged through exposure, preparation, and disciplined seamanship — not just favourable conditions.

OUR COMMITMENT

OUR COMMITMENT

The Redbay Training Academy exists to ensure that when our owners step aboard, they are not only equipped with a capable vessel — they are equipped with the skill, knowledge, and judgment to use it properly. Because when you must go to sea, be ready.

We offer four levels of instruction for skippers, family and crew. An initial consultation with Danny will determine the most appropriate level for your training.
