BOUNCER 2 - Redbay rise to the challenge and customise Bouncer 2 for the McLister Family,

BOUNCER

Earlier in the year we reported the launch of 'Bouncer' the Stormforce 11 mtr which was customised for the McLister family in Ballycatle. Paul one of the boys is a wheelchair user and when commissioning 'Bouncer' their previous boat we had to adapt the design to allow Paul to access and use the boat. The new boat has been further enhanced to incorporate an electro-hydraulic wheelchair lift. After completing 100 hours we thought it was time to report on the progress and asked Paul to supply a few photos of him on-board.

The family have cruised on the west coast of Scotland, inside and outside of the Clyde, they have been to Tobermory and also logged a number of coastal passages putting up 100 hours in a few momths. The boat has behaved faultlessly and met all of their expectations. They are also extremely impressed with the Yamaha TRP'sover the older single prop on the last boat, they cannot believe the improvement in seakeeping and grip, the boat planes effortlessly and runs an awful lot quieter.

The specification of the boat includes

  • A hydraulic wheelchair access ramp
  • Folding stern rails to allow access to the stern of the boat from the Marina
  • Standing toilet compartment
  • Microwave oven
  • Raymarine E80 & E120 series Navigation with ST6001 autopilot
  • On-board camera's inc engine bay and aft deck
  • 4 x KAB suspension seats.
  • CD Stereo with IPOD
  • and too many more extras to list

Paul at the ergononically placed controls, he can drive the boat with ease
